Play Therapy

Play therapy is a child counseling approach where children use toys, games, and activities to communicate their thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a safe and supportive environment. Through play, children can express themselves more freely than they might through traditional talk therapy. Therapists observe the child's play and use it as a tool to understand their emotions, behaviors, and struggles, helping them process and cope with various challenges.

Treatment is likely to involve the use of osteopathic techniques within the treatment room combined with a more specific exercise based program in the studio gym. The aim is to return to full physical activity.

Art Therapy

Art therapy involves using creative processes such as drawing, painting, and sculpting to help children explore their emotions, improve self-esteem, and develop coping skills. By engaging in artistic expression, children can communicate complex feelings that they may find difficult to express verbally. Art therapists provide a nurturing environment where children can freely express themselves and work through emotional issues using different art mediums.

Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for Children

Cognitive-behavioral therapy tailored for children focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to emotional distress. Therapists work with children to develop coping strategies and problem-solving skills to manage challenges such as anxiety, depression, or behavioral issues. Through structured sessions and activities, children learn to recognize and challenge unhelpful thoughts and develop healthier ways of thinking and behaving.

Family Therapy

Family therapy involves working with both the child and their family members to address issues impacting the child's emotional well-being and overall family dynamics. Therapists facilitate open communication, improve family relationships, and foster understanding among family members. By involving the family in the therapeutic process, children can receive support from their loved ones and work towards positive changes in their home environment.

Trauma-Focused Therapy

Trauma-focused therapy is designed to help children who have experienced traumatic events such as abuse, neglect, or natural disasters. Therapists use specialized techniques to help children process and make sense of their traumatic experiences in a safe and supportive environment. This type of therapy aims to reduce trauma-related symptoms, such as nightmares, flashbacks, and anxiety, while promoting healing and resilience in the child.

Social Skills Training

Social skills training helps children develop essential social skills such as communication, empathy, and cooperation. Therapists use structured activities and role-playing exercises to teach children how to navigate social situations, make friends, and resolve conflicts effectively. By improving their social skills, children can build confidence, strengthen relationships, and thrive in various social settings.
